The success story of the Sitra Group began on March 31, 1962, when Robert Saelens founded Saelens Inter Transport in Geluveld in Zonnebeke. Martial and Frank Saelens, Robert's sons, embarked on the path of diversification. They looked for specific niche markets and specialized in the transport of food in various forms, both in Europe and abroad.
Since 1962, the Sitra Group has become a market leader in food logistics and is able to transport, store and process food products in all different forms. Including powders, liquids and pallets.
